Thomas Kinkade’s Widow And Mistress To Face Off In Court In Battle For His Millions

By Radar Staff

When Thomas Kinkade died three months ago, he left a widow, a mistress and an estate worth $60 million.

Tomorrow the two women -- Nanette Kinkade and Amy Pinto --  will face off in court where a judge will decide who gets to administer the estate of the so-called Painter of Light.

The critically maligned but commercially successful artist, who battled alcoholism for three decades, had been legally separated from Nanette for two years before his death April 6. Pinto has said that she and Thomas were planning a Fuji wedding as soon as he divorced.

She's also come forward with two handwritten wills that bequeath her $10 million, Kinkade's house and studio in the Silicon Valley suburb of Monte Sereno, and the right to create a Kinkade museum.

Nanette has moved to block all that and has called Pinto nothing more than a gold digger.

The Los Angeles Times reports that in papers filed by Pinto, her attorney stated, "Amy and Thomas were deeply in love. They both believed that fate brought them together to help each other through the difficult times they both encountered as well as to share their dreams of a life together."

Nanette's attorney says, not so fast.  Her side claims Thomas' will was up to date, and that Pinto just wants to "misappropriate...trade secrets for her own purposes or disclose them to third parties."

The probate judge who will rule on the warring arguments Monday will do so in secret. The Painter of Light's estate is being decided under seal.

Thomas Kinkade’s Mistress Claims His Estate In Handwritten Will

By Amber Goodhand - Radar News Editor

Thomas Kinkade's mistress produced a sketchy, hand-written will on Tuesday that she claims entitles her to the painter's mansion and more than $10 million, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Since Thomas passed away in April his estranged wife Nanette Kinkade and his mistress, Amy Pinto-Walsh, have been embroiled in a heated struggle for his estate.

PHOTOS: Celebs Who Died Young

"I, Thomas Kinkade, being of sound mind and body do hereby bequeath to Amy Pinto Walsh $10,000,000 in cash from my corporate policy," the paper, signed November 18, 2011, reads.

It goes on to state that Amy will inherit his two properties on Ridgecrest Avenue "for her security."

But Nanette argues it is unclear if it's a legitimate will written by Thomas, and if so, what state his mind was in when he wrote it.

ABC 7 News was in San Jose, Calif. on Tuesday where they said Nanette was going to request a private arbitration hearing — and called Amy a "gold-digger" who is only out to rip off the estate — while the mistress wants a public hearing so she can clear her name.

As RadarOnline.com first reported, those close to the Painter of Light say he planned on marrying Amy as soon as his divorce with Nanette was finalized.

"Amy was already part of his circle of friends and that really enraged Nanette. She was furious and humiliated that he not only cheated on her, but moved on so quickly and publicly with her," an insider revealed.

"Nanette is doing everything she can to make sure Amy won’t get a dime, mostly out of spite," the insider told RadarOnline.com.

Thomas Kinkade’s Wife Granted Restraining Order Against His Mistress

By Amber Goodhand - Radar News Editor

The restraining order that Thomas Kinkade's wife applied for against his mistress just days after his death has been granted, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Nanette Kinkade argued that because Thomas' mistress, Amy Pinto-Walsh, was also his assistant and had signed a confidentiality agreement in 2011, she had no right to speak out about him after he died and wanted to ban her from "defaming, criticizing, disparaging or discrediting Kinkade, Nanette Kinkade, or any company owned by Kinkade."

A judge found in Nanette's favor and the restraining order was granted.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Thomas adored Amy and the two planned to tie the knot as soon as his divorce from Nanette was finalized.

"Amy was already part of his circle of friends and that really enraged Nanette. She was furious and humiliated that he not only cheated on her, but moved on so quickly and publicly with her," the insider told us.

"But Thomas treated Amy just like his wife. He adored her. They were very serious about their relationship and were just waiting to make it official. His friends really liked her."

Those who were close to Thomas and Amy suspect that Nanette filed the restraining order as a way of keeping the mistress as far away from his assets and his memory as possible.

"Nanette is doing everything she can to make sure Amy won’t get a dime, mostly out of spite," the source said.

So far, it seems to be working.

Thomas Kinkade’s Widow Wants Restraining Order Against His Mistress!

By Radar Staff

The Thomas Kinkade story just got a whole lot darker. The so-called Painter of Light, who died earlier this month, was secretly separated from his wife Nanette, and had been living with Amy Pinto-Walsh for 18 months at his mansion in Los Gatos, Calif.

Now Nanette Kinkade and the Kinkade Family Trust have requested a retraining order against the mistress.

Their request, to be heard by Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Patricia M. Lucas on Tuesday, wants to ban Pinto-Walsh from "defaming, criticizing, disparaging or discrediting Kinkade, Nanette Kinkade, or any company owned by Kinkade," reports the Los Gatos Patch.

PHOTOS: Celebrities Found Dead In Famous Hotels

It also seeks to prevent Pinto-Walsh from publishing anything about Kinkade or his businesses, or about Nanette.

Pinto-Walsh, the court docs say, signed a confidentially agreement with the Trust in February, 2011, because she was working as the painter's personal assistant, and the restraining order is seeking to enforce that.

But it's alleged in the petition that she has now "announced to a friend of the Kinkade family" that she plans to go public with information about Kinkade and sell private photographs.

PHOTOS: Celebrities Who Died In Bizarre Circumstances

As RadarOnline.com reported, Kinkade died at age 54, and his sudden death triggered an autopsy.  His family initially said he'd died on April 6. In fact, the restraining order reveals, he died on the 5th. And it has since come out that Kinkade, a recovering alcoholic, had fallen off the wagon and had been drinking heavily in the 24 hours before he died.

The final autopsy results are still pending.

Thomas Kinkade’s Shocking Death At 54 Triggers Autopsy

By Radar Staff

An autopsy has been scheduled for Thomas Kinkade who died unexpectedly on Friday at the age of 54.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kinkade died Friday at his home near Los Gatos, California.

Although his family put out a statement saying he'd died "of natural causes," officials on the scene refused to comment. Now the Santa Clara County coroner has confirmed an autopsy will take place Monday.

The mystery around his death comes in part out of the fact that the so-called Painter of Light had a very dark side.

He's been dodged by numerous lawsuits in the law decade with owners of his franchised Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries.

He also battled the bottle, former business colleagues said in court records and interviews.  His 2010 DUI mugshot went viral, and he later pleaded no contest to the charge.

And unknown to most of his fans, Kinkade and his wife Nanette had been separated for the last year, reports The Los Angeles Times.

"The Thomas Kinkade story and legacy is a story of triumph and tragedy," Kinkade's former friend and company VP told The Times.

Artist Thomas Kinkade Dies At 54

By Radar Staff

One of the most commercially successful painters of all time, Thomas Kinkade is dead at age 54.

Known as the Painter of Light, Kinkade died at his Los Gatos, California home on Friday.

Kinkade's paintings, which were reproduced on everything from postcards, calendars and coffee mugs, depicted scenes of a light-filled America with an emphasis on home, hearth and church.

PHOTOS: Celebrities Found Dead In Famous Hotels

His scenes of country gardens and landscapes in the morning light were beloved by many -- and are estimated to hang in 10 million American homes -- but were soundly criticized by the art establishment.

Kinkade was not without controversy.

His companies have been plagued by lawsuits for the last decade, and in that time the number of his franchised galleries fell by 50 percent.

PHOTOS: Celebrities Who Died In Bizarre Circumstances

In 2010, Pacific Metro, the production company that manufactured much of Kinkade's output, filed for bankruptcy, The Wall Street Journal reported. The filing came a day after the company was supposed to make a $1 million payment to two gallery owners in connection with a lawsuit.

A spokesman for Kinkade's family said his death was from natural causes.

"Thom provided a wonderful life for his family," his wife, Nanette, said in a statement. "We are shocked and saddened by his death."
